A handsome, eighty year old Tudor living room was designed with consideration for its English roots. Dark beams were boxed in, trimmed, and painted to lift them, and to shift the focus to the lovely furnishings. The hand-troweled walls were painted and finished with a khaki color glaze. Chestnut window frames were left natural. European fabrics and trims are luxurious, with sufficient integrity to stand up to the home's architecture, and to the sociable lifestyle of the owners.
